先日、ＮＨＫでイチロー選手の特集番組をやっていました。
9年連続200本安打達成！
本当に凄い記録ですね。
番組の最後に、この偉業達成の要因を聞かれて、
まず、何をもってしても野球が好きであること
そして、常に最高の状態で臨んでいること
と答えていました。
改めてイチロー選手の純粋さと徹底したプロ意識には
敬意を払いたいと思います。
大記録の過程には、それこそ多くの困難もあり
押し潰されそうなプレッシャーもあり
孤独との戦いもあったと思います。
間違いなく、自分には全くもって想像もつかない世界です。
しかし、毎回毎回そうした苦難を乗り超えてはじめて
次のレベルに到達できる。
イチロー選手は、毎年毎年それをやってきたと思います。
常に質を意識した継続的な「最高」の努力の蓄積こそが
非凡たる所以なのかもしれませんね。。
