4年に1度のワールドカップが近づいてきて
若干落ち着かなくなってきた今日この頃です。
サッカーを愛する身としては、本当に楽しみで
スペクタクルな1か月が幕を開けようとしています。
そう、スペクタクル。
この言葉を耳にすると、元日本代表のオシム監督の
インタビューを思い出します。
「あの大舞台は、一瞬一瞬がスペクタクルであった」
これは、その昔、オシム監督がオーストリアのシュトゥルム・グラーツという
クラブを率いていたときに、自身初となるチャンピオンズリーグの大舞台に
出場したときの感想です。
スペクタクルとは、壮大さ、華やかな儀式、壮観といった
意味ですが、「震え」や「感動」といってもいいと思います。
実は、この感覚は仕事でも同じだと思います。
自分の仕事、役割において、自分にとってのスペクタクルを
感じる場面が必ず訪れるものです。
しかし、より正確にいうならば、スペクタクルは、誰でも感じるチャンスはあるが、
誰にでも訪れるわけではないということです。
なぜなら、スペクタクルに遭遇するには、それ相応の努力と
持続する意思が絶対的に不可欠だからです。
恐らく、自分に与えられた職務を適当にやっている限り、
スペクタクルなんて感じることさえできないんじゃないかなぁ。
人によって何をスペクタルと感じるかは違うと思いますが、
感動や震えを覚えるような仕事をするということでは同じです。
仕事というフィールドを通じて到達するスペクタクルとは、
おそらく何にも優る最高の報酬だと思います。
オシム監督の言葉は、なんとなく自分にはそう響きました。
というわけで、来月はサッカーネタに偏りそうな感じです。。
